Everything You Need to Know About Surfside Beach in Nantucket

Grab your beach bag and get ready for the ultimate beach day at Surfside Beach in Nantucket. The quaint village is everything you could want in a sleepy beach town: It’s complete with walk-up restaurants, on-patrol lifeguards, and the sound of crashing waves.

  • Location

Surfside Beach is located about three miles south of Downtown. It’s easy to find your way on a bike, no matter your skill level: Just head down Pleasant Street from Main Street, and veer right onto Atlantic Avenue, which will turn into Surfside Road and lead you to the beach.

  • Amenities

Unlike Children’s Beach and Jetties Beach, Surfside doesn’t have the immediate convenience of Downtown Nantucket. That’s part of its charm. When hunger strikes, The Surf at Surfside Beach has you with everything from breakfast and burgers to ice cream and vegan options.

  • Things to Do

Surfside is typically quiet as far as current is concerned, but it holds true to its name during the evenings when surfers enjoy riding the beach’s larger waves. Visit in the morning and collect your favorite seashells to commemorate your trip or bring a kite to enjoy the Grey Lady’s consistent breeze. It’s an ideal spot for bike riding, beach picnics, and bocce ball. If you can dream up your perfect beach day, you can make it a reality at Surfside Beach.
